It's Not Just the Police
Have I ever mentioned in my blogs that it's not just police in the "police project"? At the beginning, fire chiefs and firefighters were also involved; and I believe some military people have been involved in giving advice, as well. But it's mainly the police and fire people, as far as I know. And the fire people had been sort of asked to keep an eye on things and to not let the gay issues get too far out of hand.... [This was many decades ago.] But it seems the fire people have also had an interest in supporting gay issues, since that time. But there has been some conflict between the police and fire people at some times. [I don't know!?--We're working on things.]
They Wanted Sympathy and Support...
Have explained in Waterlily Story II that the police specifically wanted support from someone like my late, ex-husband--who had a drinking problem.... As long as they're not personally harmed by them, people often like alcoholics and want to help them. And the police knew that their gay rights project was sort of half-serious. It's been a serious effort, in some ways, but it has also seemed to be on the back burner some of the time. And the police groups have been deliberately spread out in order that it would be hard to shut them down if they were ever exposed before they wanted to be. It's been kind of helter-skelter, in my opinion! But we've made progress...and I can only hope something will be settled soon? [And the people who know about the police project have been very tolerant overall, it seems.--And most people don't know the whole story--only bits and pieces of it....]
They Had Permission
When I got married in the late 1980s, my husband was working with police through his job. He became quite good friends with some of them, at the time. And it seems they wanted to know if he approved of the fact that they were scouting me for the police project...? My husband told me some stories...and they were stories...and he also wanted to know if I approved? Neither he nor I really knew what to expect from there...! My husband knew more than I did but he didn't tell me everything. But he basically got my permission to proceed--and I'm sure the police thanked him for his support!?
There was also a particular psychiatrist who advised the police for several decades. It seems he started in the early 1980s? He has since retired, to my knowledge, and the police have used various other psychiatrists.
So, the police weren't working entirely on their own.

My Parents
In the post, "What's It Really All About???" below, I mentioned something about my parents. When the police project began, I believe they were looking for certain type of people. My mother had attended a dressmaking and design school which was connected to a dressmaker's shop.--It was what was called haute couture, at the time. It was high fashion and customers had individual designs made for them. The clients of the shop included politicians' wives and movie stars. After my mother's course was over, she worked in the shop for a little while. She was a working-class person but she had contact with famous people. Also, my mother's sister-in-law--my aunt--worked on the grounds of the president's palace for a while when she was young. This was in the country of Finland, in Europe, where my family lived before I was born.
It wasn't that the police wanted a dressmaker or a gardener, of course. But they wanted to know that the family could perform quality work, I suppose? And they wanted a musical family, also. My father played the piano and that was important. Pianos, and also organs, were a symbol in the police project. The pianos and organs represented the silent films of the past; and the police project was an undercover one--it was silent, you could say. If a family had musical talent, it was also likely they'd have an interest in writing, which was needed. [Have written about this earlier in my first blog.]
It has all been quite a complicated scheme but I believe the police knew what they were doing; and I just wanted to mention something about my parents here. Sexual Harassment in the Bible
Some Christians I've met don't seem to be completely familiar with what the term "sexual harassment" means.--And it's just as well if people haven't had experience with the topic! But I'd like to explain to give them a better idea of what happened to me in the past. And there was a story in the Bible about someone who had a similar problem.
It was Joseph who was working as a slave in Egypt, in the house of a respected man named Potiphar. One day, Potiphar's wife decided she wanted to be intimate with Joseph. And Joseph refused. So, the lady became angry and she made a false accusation against Joseph. She grabbed his coat and claimed that Joseph had tried to attack her. Did she say Joseph left his coat behind when she turned down his advances? Something like that.
In sexual harassment, the perpetrator takes some negative action against someone who turns him/her down. They penalize the unwilling person. [And it's against the law.] In the above case, Joseph was sent to prison for attempted rape.--It was a serious charge! The actions aren't usually that extreme but sometimes they are.
What happened to me was that I believed my former landlady had sexually harassed me and she had driven me out of my home for turning her down. [The details are explained more fully in my first blog.] She claimed the basement apartment was legally too small for my son and me, although she had let us rent it just a few months before. And she had offered me the use of an extra room in the basement if I was willing to go along with her, etc.
It wasn't my landlady who put criminal charges on me but then someone who was connected to the landlord/tenant agency did.--And my official case was brought into the court, with underhanded tactics.... The criminal part wasn't exactly part of the sexual harassment but it seemed awfully close, at the time...! And I've had to deal with all this business for some time.
[My contacts and I have been working on the criminal matters and other things that have happened to me in the past--as I've been explaining in my three blogs. We've been making progress, even though nothing has been publicized, so far. And I pray that I'll have strength to get through to the end.--Hopefully, it won't be too much further!?]

Gay Marriage
Gay marriage has been the biggest issue for gay rights that has been involved in the police charity project. Myself, I've gone through different phases of my understanding of the topic. But I'm think I'm finally getting to where I can really be comfortable and cooperate with other people--both gay supporters and conservative Christians!? People can read more in the first two blogs if they wish to know more about this matter.

What's It Really All About???--part 2
For the record, it's the actors and actresses who are the most highly paid and the most glamorous in the film/TV industry. The writers are just in the background.... I've been more in the background, myself, at least so far.... We're expecting to have some publicity, at the very least in the form of a movie, and I'll likely be portrayed there. But the police work is the most important thing! And there are other civilians besides myself who have been involved. [At least one of them was also a child when his family was apparently contacted; and he later became a police officer, himself. There have been hints about a few others being scouted as children but I haven't had any definite evidence about it.]
Note: It's not that I'm writing actual scripts for TV shows or movies either. There's other writing I do and it's kind of hard to explain about it.... [It's complicated and I expect everything will become clear when the movie comes out.]

What's It Really All About???
Some people might want to know what this police business is really all about? Police, secret police.... Am I just a crazy person--paranoid??? If people have an honest interest, they're welcome to go back to a few entries in this blog, posted on January 24, 2012: "Introduction," "What Is My Life About?," and "History of the Police Investigation and My Family." Myself, I've also been in the process of understanding what was going on.--I wasn't told everything at the beginning.
Someone asked me today, "Why you? What do you think is so special about you?" Why do I think I was one who was chosen to help the police in their charity project, that is? And I believe the answer has partly to do with my parents, as I've mentioned previously. My parents had certain positive qualities that the police, or secret police, were looking for. But they also weren't too perfect--they had dysfunction in their family backgrounds.... If someone was completely functional and well-adjusted, they probably wouldn't have gotten their participation as easily.--They wouldn't have had as much to write about and they wouldn't have been as sympathetic to the cause.... [It's not to say that homosexuality is an issue for me, or for my family.--I'm referring to other issues.] The police also wanted someone who would need some money--they couldn't choose wealthy people because they also wouldn't want to spend time with the police.... [And as I've also written previously, my aunt's and uncle's family was just a little older than my family. I believe they had an influence, also--a positive influence. (And for the record, my cousins have been very successful throughout their lives in housing construction and real estate.)]
My father is no longer alive and my mother is quite frail and elderly. They've been fairly normal people but they were immigrants to Canada many years ago; and it seems the police particularly wanted immigrants, at the time.... So, that was another factor. The secret police reportedly consulted with the immigration department in Canada and that was how they heard of my family. [And my parents were settling near the Toronto area, which is one of the largest cities in Canada.] As I was growing up, the police continued to approve of my family and me; and the process was set in motion for when I became older. [They missed me at a younger age but finally connected later on....]
It's not entirely flattering to be chosen to work with the police on their charity project! And it certainly hasn't been an easy journey.--It has been very difficult, although there have been some worthwhile and even exciting times. I'm still waiting for something to be resolved, however; and then there will likely be publicity, sooner or later. [In the meantime, I'm continuing working and writing.... And police work is often necessarily slow, it seems.]

The Police vs. Secret Police
Recently, I was talking to someone and made a distinction between the police and secret police. And the person reacted immediately--she was well aware there was a difference between the two. Don't recall at the moment when I first became aware of the possibility of secret police being involved in my life. But by this time, I feel more confident to identify them. [I've added more specific details in other notes I've written in my blogs today.]

Even though the secret police wanted to have their charity project divided among many police groups, in order to function better, there was a point where it's been said someone got an idea for the groups to specifically compete with each other. Some of the competition was done in sport, so to speak, and of course some was a natural consequence of the subject matter being controversial. All the police groups, with or without their knowledge, had connections to the film/TV industry, also.
[The competition was also intended to further the cause of the charity project.--It wasn't meant to be harmful, although it has been quite touchy, at times! (And we're not past all the competition yet.--From what I've been able to see.)]

...Some Police--part 2
This entry is continued from Tuesday, January 24, 2012 in this blog.
There has been competition among police groups, yes. And in June 2009 in my original Waterlily blog, I stated some parties were even wanting to shut this business down completely, at the time. If I may say, that group seemed to be the chiefs of police; and they seem to have since made peace with this matter.--They're not interested in pursuing it much further--to work on gay rights--themselves, but they don't seem to mind if others continue. And that's a lot of progress! It has been a real relief to me. I've gathered this information by cooperating with the sources I've worked with.... [And again, I don't have 100% proof of what's happening but I've had certain channels to deal with, as I've explained somewhat in my Waterlily blogs. And if some people want to be skeptical, it's their prerogative to be that way, until and unless I get real proof; and in the meantime, I don't want to argue with anybody. People can take my comments or leave them.]
NOTE ADDED ON FEBRUARY 4, 2014: Have added some notes today in the relevant previous entries to the effect that it was actually secret police who originally got this project going. Will be writing further in separate entries about this matter.
